Wedding Reception Hors D’oeuvres Ideas?

Here’s what I have so far. Good? Bad? Add something? Drop something? It just feels theme-less…. a schmorgusboard of whatever…
Spicy Buffalo wings
Barbeque Buffalo wings
Chicken skewers- Toshi’s dipping sauce
Beef/carne asada skewers- Toshi’s dipping sauce
California rolls-soy sauce/ginger/wasabi
Spicy tuna rolls- soy sauce/ginger/wasabi
Stuffed mushrooms
Toasted baguette- hummus, garlic spread, tomato bruschetta
Red potato skins
Fresh fruit kabobs- pineapple/grapes/kiwi/strawberry
Caesar salad
Summer salad
Baked caramelized onion brie- crackers
Can someone tell me if thats ok or if there is a way to present the food to kind of tie it all in together? We aren’t serving a sit down dinner so, is this enough choices?
THANK YOU! I’ts stressing me out.

It might be a good idea to have an assorted meat skewer, if you know your family is up to trying new things. This can be in addition to or in place of the skewers already there. This isn’t necessary but it would be interesting. Have a skewer with Lamb, Chicken, Buffalo or beef and Pork.
The wings would seem messy to me. You could have a chicken skewer with a buffalo or BBQ dipping sauce.
Maybe have a vegetarian version of the sushi. You can do a assorted vege one or a cucumber or avocado. (Avocado would taste especially good with the carne asada and chicken skewers).
A nice summer salad is a spinach salad with strawberries, mushrooms and pine nuts then tossed with a raspberry vinaigrette.
One thing I’ve done before that is nice is you roast some beef the day before, cool it, slice it and then the day of make some mini Yorkshire puddings, heat up the meat and stuff the yorkies with the meat and serve with a brown gravy and horseradish sauce.
Mini meatballs with a variety of dipping sauces is also nice. You could also have Gyoza which would go with the sushi.

It seems like a decent selection. I would add the standards: mini pizza, mini quiche, pigs-in-blankets, chicken fajitas, mozzarella sticks. I would also consider strawberries and other fresh fruit for dipping with chocolate sauce and/or yogurt dip.
    Good luck!

A great way to tie it all together is to have the center be a focal point. Try a fruit and cheese display that has multiple heights by putting risers under the table cloth. Risers can be anything from a book to a box. Just make sure the display is easy to eat as well. Then you can put everything else on there own platters to the right and left and try to group similar items together. Some other ideas that are easy and well liked are mini quiche, shrimp cocktail, and scallops wrapped in bacon. If you still feel theme-less try going on wedding catering websites to view there sample menus for themed ideas.

Include a nonspicy dipping sauce. My guests really liked peanut satay sauce, but I had to come up with low salt, non spicy option and it worked well.
Really, a nice selection. You don’t NEED a theme, but you have touched in many places to serve many palates. I did not serve sushi rolls, but did include a couple of appetizers from Sam’s club that only needed reheating. One was a cheese thing (I had a couple of vegetarians) and one was beef.
Also, I found having a table with lots of ice water to be more popular than anything other beverage.

I mean it certainly seems like enough choices, and although they aren’t in the same “category” of food, you don’t want them to be.
People like different things so having a bunch of things is easier. I think wings are difficult though! In place of those maybe try doing chicken skewers with peanut sauce/teryaki sauce. Wings are just messy and when you have hors d’oeuvres you want them to be as easy as possible!
Everything else sounds like a great idea – bravo on the stuffed mushrooms and onion/brie crackers – yum!!

Hors D’Oeuvres suck. You want food that people will eat. We had a whole load of dipping sauces and dips (cheese fondue, spinach dip, ect) with stuff to dip in them like fruits and crackers and chips. We also had chicken fingers, which were insanely popular.
I urge you to avoid serving weird stuff, even at a black tie affair. No one will like it and you’ll have a bunch of hungry, grumpy, headachy guests. I like the skewers and the kabobs, but make sure you have some simple sauces, too. Lots of people hate spicy.

do away with the salads & add a veggie tray/ kabobs
i would use baguette or crackers for the spreads & brie
incl other cheeses with the fruit
wins are soooo messy – think @ that one
    could add meatballs or crabcakes
phyllo pastry – fill with spinach or meat or cheese
    deviled eggs
    mini quiche

There is a lot of really messy things on there. The wings are a bad idea. The sushi seems like a strange choice to me. You seem to be lacking the more traditional ones people expect like meatballs, shrimp and such.
