my fiance and i are getting married at the end of this september. we are having a small wedding, no attendants etc. My fiance is enlisted navy and will be wearing his dress blues uniform, for those of you who dont know :its black with white piping and some red detail. Im wearing a long but simple white wedding dress w a ribbon (dont know what color ribbon to go with yet). I was originally going to go with a light pink ribbon and pink and orange flowers but feel that these colors will clash with my fiances uniform.. any suggestions on ribbon and/ or flower colors for the ceremony? thanks so much!
random pic from web,, but shows the dress blues im talking about. http://www.compassrose.org/static/LonNavy.jpg

I don’t think that would clash at all, I think it would be a BEAUTIFUL contrast! Most tuxes are black, no red detail, but black.
You could go with red roses, or a simple white arrangement….but I don’t see why you need to change….. How much red detail are we talking about.

Hi and congratulations!
I agree with the first poster. ALL colors go with black so you are in luck! If you want a light pink ribbon with pink and orange flowers, I think that would look GREAT. It certainly will not clash at all. There is only a slight amount of red detail on his uniform, so I wouldn’t worry about it. BUT, if you want to match somewhat, then you could do a red ribbon on your dress and carry some red flowers.
BUT, I love the pink and orange flowers!

I would stick with red and white flowers; roses are always beautiful.

I like the red and white roses. Very elegant. Use a white ribbon on your dress.
The pink and orange would also be lovely. He can’t add a flower to his uniform, so it wouldn’t clash with the red detail.
My thoughts

Nothing clashes with a military uniform.
Military uniforms are neutrals and you can choose ANY flowers.
I like your colour ideas. I think that will be very pretty and keep with the simplicity you are looking to have.
