I know about the knot, but are there any other websites that could help me out in planning? There just seems to be so much to consider. Any books or tips? (I’m the bride btw) thanks!

I have a friend who got married last month. She claimed that this wedding was “just for legalities” so that she could get on her fiance’s health insurance. She went on to say that they’re planning a 2nd wedding at a resort in Mexico in one year. The thing that bugs me is that the 2nd wedding isn’t a wedding. They will have been married for 1 year…it’s a vow renewal. Secondly, they are expecting that friends and family will shower them with wedding gifts at both of their weddings. What was supposed to be a wedding at the JOP’s office (1st wedding) for “just legal reasons” turned into so much more. They had family and friends fly in from out of state, they had a limo. she wore a gown, she had flowers, they went out to dinner with everyone after, with a wedding cake, a photographer…the whole shebang! And now they’ve sent out save the dates for the Mexico “wedding”, complete with registry info. How tacky! May I add that she’s angry with me and hasn’t spoken with me in months because I let her know that my husband and I won’t be able to attend their vow renewal next year, due to the fact that we are going through IVF treatments, and it just doesn’t work for us in many ways. Besides, they’re already married!! My point being: why do couples feel they are entitled to 2 weddings, just because they can’t afford to have their dream wedding the first time around? I believe that’s what this is all about, really.
I am seriously concerned about the day of my wedding. I always cry at weddings… and I am not just talking sniff sniff.. it is more like booo hhooo hoooo hooo. My eyes and nose get very red from crying and I look horrible. I don’t know how I will control my emotions on my own wedding day. I want to look nice in all the wedding photos of course but I honestly don’t see myself getting through the wedding without crying. I was wondering how many others have had the same worries. Any sugestions?
Do you think it’s overdoing the whole “day of romance”?
If the theme/color scheme wasn’t red/pink/white, would that appeal to you more or do you like those colors for that day?
If you were invited to a Valentine’s Day wedding, would you attend?

I’ve used a photographer’s vest in the past but I feel more like I’m going on a safari than photographing a wedding. The camera bag seems too bulky but I’ve seen some photographers just use a fanny pack. Any other methods used? Suggestions? Thanks!
My fiance and I were talking about wedding colors. I wanted white and red and he wanted black and blue. So we decided on black and white. However when I told my mother our colors she said that it would be different, In a bad way. So what do you think of Black and White weddings?
