beach wedding advice?
My fiance and I are getting married next summer and since he proposed on the beach, we were wanting to incorporate a slight beach theme to the wedding…. Is that a little tacky consider we will not really be at the beach considering we live in ohio? We just wanted it for sentimental reasons… Also we are wondering about the colors. we need something beachy… any helpful hints or cool ideas about any aspect of the wedding would be greatly appreciated.

What is purple and comes in a bottle or jar? I want personalized labels as a wedding favor.?
I don’t want to know places to get the labels done because I’m going to do it myself but my colors are purple and yellow and I need to know what comes in a jar or bottle that is one of those colors. Ex. grape jelly
Does making wedding favors, as part of a business, require a food handlers permit?
I’m thinking of starting an at home business and would really like to include making wedding favors and other party favors as part of the business. Most favors though, especially for weddings use some type of food, such as jordan almonds, rice, heart candy, jelly beans, etc
I’m just wondering if something like that would need a food handlers permit and other similar permits since technically it would be food handling. I would love to be able to seel hand made items, but if I remember right thats considered producing and doesnt fall under a home business license.
What wedding color goes best with red and gray?
I’m wondering what wedding color would go really well with red and gray?
The gray the groom would be wearing is (i hope) exactly like this: http://z.about.com/d/mensfashion/1/0/z/e/DavidBCFlanigan.jpg
And the bridesmaids dresses I would like to be a red silk material like these: http://www.liweddings.com/mywedding/album/i/16804.jpg
I would like the groomsmen to wear darker gray suits than the groom to make him stand out, such as this shade (could only find girl’s dress): http://manolobrides.com/images/2009/10/gray-bridesmaids-dress.jpg (Actually I love the idea of those gray bridesmaids dresses with red flowers, accents, etc, but my guy thinks the whole scene would look TOO gray if the bridesmaid dresses were gray instead of red. I suppose I agree.)
I’m not yet sure what color of shirt and tie the groomsmen would look good in to fit the theme: red shirts with gray ties or red ties with gray or white shirts…? Or another color entirely?
But my main question is: What would be a good third accent color to throw into the flowers, headpieces, etc to give it a bit of an extra splash other than just red and gray? (I will be wearing traditional white though.) I don’t want orange. My guy is set on having the red, and I’m pretty set on having the gray (at least on him). Do I even need an extra color? I want it to look beautiful and elegant yet fun and summery, if that’s possible with the colors we’ve chosen. If the dresses are red, I love the idea of gray flowers mixed with some other random pretty color (yes, I know gray flowers are somber–and spray painted–but I think they could look sharp mixed with something else) and the guys having red flowers on their suits.
It will most likely be a spring or early fall wedding, and I would like it to be outdoors, most likely in California. Any suggestions and links to pictures or examples would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Sorry, I’m not sure why the links didn’t stay clickable.

Kids at a wedding??? Cameras too!?
I just wanted to take a poll as to who is planning on having kids at their wedding and who is not.
I also will say that I think it’s RUDE to not include family in such a joyous occasion and this includes children. The key to having kids at a wedding is to simply keep them busy. We made goody bags for all the kids who came to our wedding (except for 2 infants), in total it was 23 goody bags. They included a bunch of crafts and an activity book we downloaded for free off the internet along with a box of crayons. But, the best thing we did was give every child ages 4+ a camera and a scavenger hunt list. The kids, as well as their parents were so into it. It really made the kids feel like they were a special part of the wedding. We put things on the list such as: take a picture of the bride’s hair, a centerpiece, the bride’s shoe, your parents dancing, somebody making a silly face, somebody under a table, your meal before you eat it, the groom and his mom, the bride’s something blue (mine was appropriate), one of the bridesmaids, the parents of the groom, the parents of the bride, etc. EVERY camera was returned! My mother had all the film developed into double prints and sent one copy to the child who took them, and if they completed their scavenger hunt list, they got a prize! She mailed them a gift certificate for an ice cream sundae. Believe it or not, some of the pictures came out really awesome. My only regret about it is that I didn’t put on the directions to make sure you use a flash, but with the technology of computers, we were able to fix most of the pictures!
As for the infants, I didn’t hear a single cry. There were 2 babies under a year old at my wedding. I strategically sat the couples with infants close to exits, just in case the child started acting up. Not only were the infants well behaved, but all the children were as well! They were all so into their scavenger hunts, they didn’t have time to do much else!
My wedding was a HUGE success and I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Having all of my little cousins there meant the world to me.
I don’t have children of my own, but I view weddings as the unity of 2 people AND THEIR FAMILIES. I just feel its wrong to discriminate against family members because of age. In the end, it is the couple’s decision. People do have a right to exclude family members, but the couple also should realize that people also have a right to be upset by this.
In old times it was required to have children attend weddings, which is where the modern ring bearer and flower girl ideas come from. Because people did not keep records of marriages, as they got older, they needed the children who attended their wedding years before to vouch for them to say they are in fact married.

What kind of jewelry could you give the (step) children during the wedding?
My finance has three middle school age daughters who will also be participating in the wedding by being my bridesmaids and during a sand ceremony. I know it used to be the thing to give jewelry during the ceremony, but I don’t know what to give them. I thought about their first initials, but that doesn’t seem perfect.

I need some ideas for a wedding guest book?
I’m in charge of making the guest book for an upcoming wedding. I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and what would be an easy and cheap [but very nice quality] way to do this? I’d like some unique ideas. Thanks!
My fiance and I have chosen to have rubber ducks as favors at our wedding, how should we personalize them?
My fiance loves to collect rubber ducks, so when we found these bride and groom rubber ducks in an Oriental Trading catalog we knew they should be the guest favors at our wedding next spring. I was thinking that maybe we could write our names and wedding date on the bottom of each duck. I just wanted to know if there are any other ideas to personalize them.
Does anyone know where I can get good Black and White wedding Invitations for cheap?
My Fiance and I really love the look of Black and White for our wedding. We want to get a really classy look but we don’t have much money, as we have just bought a house and we had to put down more deposit than we thought. So we need to save money where we can. But I would really love to have classy printed wedding invitations in black and white to match our bridesmaids, and reception table decorations? Black lace table runners with pink tiger lilies in clear vases with white marbles.
Does anyone have any ideas? I’m stuck and haven’t found any wedding invites I like yet.
