I’m trying to decide on what to set out for my guests at the wedding reception. I’m wondering if I even need to give them. Do people still do wedding favors? Alot of favors I get at weddings are lame and I end up throwing them away anyway. I don’t want to look cheap, but I also don’t feel like spending hundreds of dollars on stuff my guests are just going to chuck or leave at the reception.

If you are only inviting parents and grandparents to your wedding, do you still send invitations?
We are having a very small, informal, beach wedding that we are paying for ourselves. Everyone knows the when and where of the wedding and we would only be sending 4 invitations total. Just wondering do we still print something up or is that too much? We live close to the coast so we are just planning to go for the day, have a small ceremony, and then go out to eat. Just looking for suggestions!
can i still get a legal separation in missouri if i am pregnant by another man?
Im 21 i was 20 when i got married, between his parents pushing us to get married and the way weddings are so commercialized our whole lives i made a huge mistake and figured it out pretty soon after the wedding, i left him and moved out of town where i have now met someone else and fallen in love with and we are now pregnant, stupid me i know, I know that i cannot get a divorce even though i know and my husband knows the baby is not his, but can i still get a legal separation even though i am pregnant, i don’t want nor need him to keep covering me on his insurance, i just want to get away i would live in a tree alone with nothing to get away from this man. Any advice would be great. i could go crazy dealing with him throughout this pregnancy, I’m high risk as it is, i don’t want to string him along and make him deal with all of this.
I’m still looking for glass mini choppers for a wedding favor. Any ideas?
I saw a mini glass chopper at a state fair and thought it would be a cool wedding favor. I’m not having good luck finding a place to do them. Any ideas?
Do engaged couples still do this?
The majority of wedding invitations I have received over the years have nearly always included a 3×5 or 5×7 engagement photo. Do people still do that or is that one of the many things that has disappeared into the past?
what should groomsmen wear? wedding is next month we’re still undecided!?
we are having a very casual, small beach wedding a month from now. my bridesmaids will all wear little black dresses of different styles that come from their own closets. what is a good idea for the groomsmen to wear? i want them to be comfortable; my fiance says they should look semi classy. the groom is wearing a black tux.
the groom has already paid for his tux and i love it on him anyway so that is not an option. i’m just asking what would be good for groomsmen to wear, not how can i switch around the clothes we’ve already decided upon for the rest of the wedding party.

During the reception after my wedding, I plan on jumping in a pool while still wearing my wedding dress.?
My dress is a slightly above knee all white chiffon, lace and organza creation. I will also have on a poufy crinoline white slip under it for fullness along with my favorite white satin bra and g-string panty set as well as beige silk nylons with white and red trimmed garter belt and white satin pump high heels. Any ideas on this?
Which red flowers can still bloom in the winter? ?
I am rebuilding my back yard, and looking for short red flowers, no more than 15″ tall, that can still bloom in the winter. Also, where can I get these if it exists? Home Depot or Lowe’s?

Winter wedding question! Hi. we are still in the process of setting and finalizing our wedding plans. If we?
select and are able to get married in the early part of December 2009, being that it is a few weeks away from christmas, we would probably go with a “christmas theme” for our decorations and colors. So what I was wondering from a ll the good people at yahoo answers is a two part question:
1. should bridesmaids be apple red or wine colored. and what color roses? red roses or black magic roses.
it could be one of 4 color combos – which do you like best –
1. apple red dresses with red roses
2. apple red dresses with black magic roses
3. wine colored dresses with black magic roses
or
4. wine colored dresses with red roses (this would most likely be the choice if we get married in Sept or Oct – but I’m now asking about December).
So, what color combination would be best for the bridesmaids for a christmas themed wedding. (would the decorations of the catering hall make a difference?
AND ALSO:
A previous question asked about favors for a winter wedding and one of the answerers said that ornaments are ok, but predictable. And if the person did that to not get the ornaments personalized.
Now, I like the personalized idea. Think of it a christmas tree ornament that said “Hope and Sal’s wedding” Dec. 2009 -(not our real names)
but the poser did bring up a point –
as a guest, if you were going to get an ornament anyway,
would you prefer a personalized one from the wedding like above?
OR
a plain ornament, but in a personalized box?
as in that the box would have from the wedding info?
Thanks in advance! Curious to know what people think!
Hi. Thanks. want to add a few details.
I gave lots of info, bc I wanted to give a complete description of situation.
We haven’t picked our date yet. But most likely it will be the end of next year.
So Sept, Oct , Nov or Dec.
We will have the wine dresses with red flowers if we go with a fall month. But December is winter. So I was wondering what people thought.
I have heard both red & wine for Christmas-y colors, wanted to know what others thought.
I know i have to call reception hall to see what colors they decorate in, & thats why I was wondering if it would make a difference for the indoor pictures.
Oh yeah.
We & all of our families & all of my friends are Catholic, a Christian religion. His co-workers are the only ones that we’re not exactly certain of their religion, but most are of some Christian denomination. & my guy is very religious, & Christmastime is his favorite time of year.
So the thought of a Christmas wedding was beautiful.
& its OUR wedding!
Unique Wedding Ideas can Still be Found on the Internet
Stumped on just how you want to coordinate your wedding and the reception afterwards? Don’t worry, there are still some unique wedding ideas out there. Sometimes, originality isn’t always easy when going through the stress of planning a wedding. Take a moment to relax and take note of some of the smaller points before you worry about the grand scale. How many people will be attending? Will you want to use printed plastic cups or would you like a fine glass set? Is this a small intimate affair or a much larger wedding party? If you have some of these points written down it will help you to begin.
Wedding ideas are actually a little bit like a math equation. A large portion of the overall theme of the wedding and the reception should be based on what you and your spouse like and enjoy. While a smaller part should be geared toward what your friends and family are hoping for. If you keep this equation in mind it will help you decide whether printed plastic cups or good old fashioned glass ones are more in order. It’s always important to understand your wedding is about the two of you and not what everyone else wants or expects. It’s also a good idea to have some aspects of the wedding that appeal to everyone.
It’s not a crime to simply ask your relatives for some fresh wedding ideas if you are lost on what you should do. Sometimes, using other people’s experiences can unblock your creative juices and help you envision your own event. So place a few calls to relatives as many of them do have ideas. However if an idea doesn’t appeal to you, don’t be afraid to rule it out. Trying to consider too many things at once is a good way to get overwhelmed, so the idea is to consider, and then eliminate as much as you can.
Printed plastic cups aside, you will definitely need to consider how much money you can and want to spend on this event. The price of a wedding alone can be quite high and the reception can run even higher if you’re not careful with your budget. Take into careful consideration what is worth the cost and what can be forfeited. For example, many brides spend a lot of money on things simply to “impress” others and make the wedding seem expensive or grandiose. Don’t get caught in this trap. The goal is not to “keep up with the Joneses” or any other similar objective. The goal is to simply celebrate your new commitment to each other, while also showing your friends a good time, and this can be accomplished in myriad ways.
Is it the romance or is it the joy of finally taking your vows with that special someone? Is it about sharing your love with friends and family? Or is it a little bit of all of that? Don’t worry, you know what means the most to you about your loved ones and as you present yourself with many different options and ideas, you’ll instinctively rule out ones that do not feel right to you. As long as you are honest with yourself about what the wedding means to you, you’ll come up with the right answer on how to plan your wedding whether on your own or with the help of others.
Let’s refer back to the example of the printed plastic wedding cups. This kind of accessory is actually a very useful item, which may or may not be appropriate to your goals at the reception. Is it worth it to impress your guests with crystal champagne glasses? Would you rather have something with your names and date on it that you can flatten and put in your scrapbook? Printed plastic wedding cups come in several different varieties and even have some interesting effects like blinking lights or double sided labeling to consider as well. They are fun, informal, your guest can feel like they’re at a party, and they make for a great keepsake. Printed plastic wedding cups, printed wedding napkins and other certainly some of the better, and more unique wedding ideas to consider. They are also a lot less expensive and fragile for any little guys you may have at your wedding to use. In addition, they will also make cleanup much easier as you can throw away (or recycle) the disposable ones without regret. Better yet, save any extras and break them out at your first anniversary party… or even your 50th. Imagine the fun of using the custom printed plastic wedding cups from your wedding, at your 50th anniversary party. Now that’s a unique wedding idea!
Still Stuck About The Flowers For The Wedding Party?
(I tried to post this once already, but it didn’t post, so sorry if it posts twice)
The colors for my wedding are going to be black and silver. I will be carrying a calla lily bouquet and my fiancee will have a boutineere (sp?) to match. I’m still stuck on the flowers for the wedidng party, though. I thought that I was going to do some sort of red flower, but my fiancee said he thinks red would be too bold and take away from everything else. I’m going for something that’s very pretty but understated. I’m not a fan of huge bouquets. Any ideas?
PS: (This isn’t part of the question. I just wanted to rant a little) Doesn’t it drive you crazy when your fiancee says that he doesn’t like an idea but then doesn’t offer suggestions of his own? Am I the only one with this problem?
