Wedding in Red – Perfect Marriage

I am getting married in September and my wedding is outside. My colors are cranberry and silver. I am struggling very much with the idea of favors. I swear I have looked at everything and have found nothing. I am not very creative, but I know that I want to have something different from my wedding. I am not too picky, just want something different. Any ideas?

I found a perfect classy red dress for a wedding I’m attending. Is it still not appropriate if a girl wears red to a wedding? Here’s the best part its my boyfriend (of 14 yrs.) sister who is getting married. My boyfriend is the Best Man and his ex-wife is the Maid of Honor. (No they are not walking down the aisle together and they are cordial w/each other) I’m kinda sticking out here like a sore thumb anyway but the dress looks awesome on me and I almost want to make a point. Givem’ something to talk about. Plus the bridesmaids dresses are like a cranberry/red color. Am I making a point or just making an &%$ out of myself?

from flowers to invitations and favors , I need all the help possible. I love the soft colors and the soft peach roses. He like red!! We have 1 year exactly to organize the event. Food is a very tricky problem we are vegetarians..

My dear friend and I were planning our weddings at the same time. During the process, she has wanted to use my wedding colors, floral ideas, photographer, and party favors. I tried helping her select her own invitations and waited until she ordered certain things pertaining to her wedding before answering any questions about my personal plans. Now that my wedding has passed (and yes she was in it) it has gotten worse! She wants to borrow my tiara, use the music I played in the ceremony, the location where I had my bridal shower, etc!!!! I worked my behind off to plan my own beautiful occasion. I am in her upcoming wedding. I’ve told her that she needs to use her own special touch but she’s not getting it.

How do I tell her to use her own creativity without causing tension?
We’ve been friends for over 10 years.

Yes my wedding was original because it was a Harlem Renaissance/1930s theme. The only people who were at my wedding who will attend hers is my friend and her future husband, therefore, everything she copies she will get the credit for. I know it seems silly but it’s sillier to me to copy someone else’s wedding. Did I tell you she changed her plans and is honeymooning at the same place I am?!

So, I am getting married soon and LOVE the black and white fondant cake from the end of the movie, “Because I said So.” I know it is made by cake divas (cakedivas.com) and I have found a partial picture here:

Notes of a Retired Wedding Videographer: From proposal to reception; lessons learned from Brides and Grooms

I realize my husband never gave me greeting card (I mean Valentine, wedding anniversary, when we were dating, birthday). I talked to him and he said he wasn’t like that before. I remember one time we were cleaning up his stuff and I saw his and his ex cards, letters and pics that they exchanged. I felt so bad that he don’t do these things to me. I always try to make every occasion special. I made a cake and a dinner for his birthday.I got him card, gifts and things. Please him. I feel so down on why he doesn’t do these things to me.
It is not really a big deal but Is that normal. I don’t wanna complain it to him because I knw he gets irritated. Well I guess there is nothing to complain. That makes me wanna not do anything for his birthday.
he doesn’t clean the house. He don’t work (play games all day). When I come home from work I clean the house. He is looking for job and thinking to start his own business so I wont have any probs with that

I am looking for wedding reception venues from Topeka to Manhattan and towns in between, but am having trouble finding anything. I am especially looking for a venue outdoors or in the country, but all info would help.

By the way, is there a website resource for wedding vendors in these parts of Kansas?
