My wedding is coming soon and I need help coming up with decorating ideas for my wedding reception!?

My colors are red and white. It will be the day before Valentines day next year. The reception hall is your standard rectangle shape. Tile floor, paneled walls. Rather drab. I’ve bought tons of red and white rose petals and some red and white light up balloons. I’ve got ribbon and tulle and a million other little pieces but no real ideas on how to pull it together and how to make it pop! Any ideas would be greatly appreciate.

Decorating With Miniature Ornaments

Small Christmas Trees.

There are many types of Small Christmas Trees. There are 2-4 foot tall Small Artificial Christmas Trees. You can find potted Live Christmas Trees from as small as 18 inches up to 42 inches tall. There are even Metal Ornament Trees or Stands. These range in size from ones about 10 inches tall that hold one ornament and Gold or Silver Metal Ornament Trees that are 32 inches tall and will hold 50 to 60 ornaments. These metal Christmas Ornament Trees can also be found in floor standing sizes up to 92 inches tall that will hold 100 or more ornaments. Metal Christmas Ornament Trees and stands are perfect for displaying collections of your most delicate ornaments. One popular and very elegant idea is to decorate one that is around 28 inches tall with Glass Finial Ornaments in your chosen color scheme and use it as a centerpiece with a few, elegant, sheer ribbon streamers on either side, down the center of the table. You can add a few miniature ornament balls, in co coordinating colors, with the ribbon to complete the look.

Miniature Christmas Ornaments.

There are a wide variety of Miniature Ornaments in a myriad of themes for Small Christmas Trees. There are complete Tree Trimming Kits that include matching ornament balls in two sizes plus a small final topper. These come in solid colors like Gold Glass Balls and in Multi Colored Ornament Assortments. These compliment any larger tree you might have decorated with the regular size clear or colored Glass Christmas Ornaments Balls. There are sets of 10 matching glass ball ornaments in

colors like Small Red Ornaments, Miniature Gold Ornament Balls and Silver Miniature Ornament Sets. These two types of Miniature Ornaments can be combined with Multi Color Beads and Bells Garland to create a very elegantly decorated tiny Christmas Tree.

If you prefer a more traditional theme there are Mini Snowmen, Short Chubby Santas and Father Christmas Sets of small glass ornaments. Then there are Miniature Wooden Ornaments and Miniature Santa Ornaments. All of these Ornament sets can be combined with Gingerbread Candy Garland to add to the comfy traditional Christmas decor.

A great gift idea is to create a Brides Tree by decorating a tiny live Christmas Tree or Small Artificial one with Miniature Brides Tree Ornaments or Miniature Wedding Ornaments. Using the same idea you can create an adorable Baby First Christmas Ornament Tree by adding Miniature Ducks and Bears or Miniature Baby Ornaments to a small tree. You can even create the perfect gift for the chocolate lover by decorating a small tree with Miniature MandM Ornaments and a strand of MandM Garland. A small Southwest or Western theme can be enhanced by decorating small trees with Wooden Western Ornaments and Cowboy Boots and Bandana Garland.

Lights For Small Trees.

Most 2 to 4 foot Artificial trees come either Pre lit with Clear Miniature Christmas Lights. Sometimes you will have the option to choose multi or another solid color for the lights. If you choose to buy a 3 to 4 foot Live or Artificial Tree without lights you can put lights on by adding strands of 35, 50 or 100 light, Clear or Multi Colored Christmas Lights. You can add either standard electric Clear or Multi 20 Christmas Light Bulb strands or Battery Operated Lights strands to tiny Christmas Trees. There are Clear and Multi Colored LED Battery Lights or Multi Colored or Clear Globe LED Battery Operated Lights. There are also Clear, Multi, Blue, Green, Gold and Red Battery Operated Lights. They have about 10 bulbs per strand so one strand would cover a tiny one foot tall tree and 2 to 3 strands would go nicely on a 2 foot tree. The nice thing with the Battery Operated Lights is that they are very cool burning so they will not dry out a tiny Live Christmas Tree.

There are also strands of Novelty Lights to compliment specific themes. For a traditional theme there are Santa Claus Novelty Lights and Snowman Novelty Light Sets. I have also seen 10 Light Candle Tree Lights that give the old fashioned feel of real candles lighting your tree.

For a Babys First Christmas Theme there are adorable Teddy Bear Novelty Lights. Southwest and Western themes can be enhanced with Mixed color or Red Chili Pepper Light Sets.

Decorating With Flameless Candles

Would you love to have your wedding hall or reception hall filled with candles… but then you picture a disaster happening when they get knocked over or there is wax dripping everywhere or they don’t stay lit. A solution to this problem is using flameless candles.

Flameless candles or battery-operated candles are great for households for those of you who love the atmosphere candles create but you have small children that might knock a real candle over or get burnt by a real candle.

There are several benefits to flameless candles. One there is no mess to clean up such as dripping, hot wax. Two they are very cost effective. Some battery operated candles or flameless candles can last up to 800 hours. Then you simple change the battery. How easy is that and you never have to worry about having to replace the whole candle. No more worrying about not having a candle when you need one. The third benefit with these candles is that they are very portable because you never have to worry about them containing hot wax.

If you are having a wedding reception and want a bunch of tea light candles, they also have these in a flameless candle or battery-operated candle. They also have underwater submersible flameless tea light candles. They are called Floralytes. They come in many different colors, such as white, red, blue, purple, teal, green, and yellow.

You can get battery-operated candles in a ton of different styles, colors and sizes. Tea lights also come in a variety of ways. You can get wall sconces, window candles, outdoor lanterns, votives, and Christmas candles all flameless or battery operated. What a nice feeling to know that you can have your house, a church or a reception hall decorated with beautiful candle lighting without actually having to have the candle flame flickering throughout your house.

Having a romantic, elegant party of any kind is a snap when you don’t have to worry about hot wax or a big mess. Flameless candles can provide you with a perfect candle light ambiance without the worry. You can make your wedding reception, or any other kind of party a big success with bowls of battery operated tea lights sitting as your centerpieces or you could get taper flameless candles that bridesmaids could carry if you are having an evening outdoor wedding instead of carrying the traditional flowers.

You can do just about anything with flameless or battery operated candles. They are so versatile that you can use them just about anywhere and not have to worry about them getting knocked over and burning something or someone. No matter what size, shape, style or color you get, you will enjoy the endless hours of worry free candle “burning.” For those of you who have given up on regular candles due to the hazard they may cause, try flameless candles. It is well worth the money to be able to recreate the relaxing atmosphere that real candles create only without the flame. Get some flameless candles today!

Decorating With Fabric

Fabric is ideal for decorating for Holiday Parties or Weddings and adds an elegant touch to your designs. There are many types of fabrics that can be used, from inexpensive cottons, light weight muslin and elegant sheer fabrics. They can be used as window dressing, Christmas Tree Skirts, Mantle Cloths, Table Runners, the list is endless. All you need to do is choose a color scheme and decide how formal you want your home to be. In this article I want to focus on the many uses for Sheer Drape Fabric.

Wedding Reception Fabric.

One of the many uses of Sheer Drape Fabric is decorating Wedding Reception Tables. Sheer Drape Fabric, that is only about 28 inches wide, is perfect for nearly any decorating design. There are elegant silver Sheer Wedding or Holiday Fabric and Gold Sheer Fabric Drape. Use Sheer Wedding Fabric down the center of the table with clear mini lights underneath. Gather it up and swag it around the edges of the tables over top of a tulle table skirt. Use gold Sheer Fabric Drape to dress up a chair back. Drape the Sheer Fabric over chair backs either by itself or over top of plain white or ivory fabric. These beautiful fabrics can be used around an arch or draped around doorways or windows for a very elegant look as well. You can make a loose knot in one end to form a flower or puff design to add dimension in your window or doorway design.

Christmas Holiday Fabric.

Sheer Christmas Decorating Fabric is elegant and there are also styles with glittered leaf patterns added and even a most elegant Sheer Poinsettia Fabric. There are many decorative uses for Fabric during the Holidays, starting with the Christmas Tree. Sheer Holiday Fabric can be used in your tree like bead garland and adds the most elegant look. Then the same or contrasting Fabric can be brought down beneath the tree, around the base, for a stunning Christmas Tree Skirt. Red and Gold Sheer Fabric can be draped across the mantle piece, with or without mini lights beneath. You can tie a puffy knot, near the end of the Sheer Fabric, on either side of the mantle piece.

Create an elegant entry by weaving Gold Sheer Fabric through your lush green Artificial Garland on the stair rails, even draped over the doorways leading from your entry. Hang Sheer Poinsettia Fabric as a sheer curtain on a window in your dining room, with clear mini lights behind, for a very romantic feel. Use a Sheer Fabric Drape to create a focal wall by simply draping it down a wall, add a romantic touch by hanging clear mini Christmas Light Bulbs, with a soft twinkle, behind the fabric.

Incorporating Clear Twinkling Lights with the Sheer Drape Fabrics in your decorating adds a soft warm effect to your lighting and the over all feel of the room. These lights have a remote that makes it is easy for you to control the way the lights twinkle.

Cake Decorating Ideas That Will Let your Imagination Run Wild

Cake decorating ideas are plentiful on the web. In fact, after you have baked your cake, the next step is to decorate the cake to look more attractive. Cake decorating ideas are the most difficult part of the whole thing. This is more so if you are not an artist. Some people are naturally gifted, so for them decorating a cake is very easy. But for those who have no idea how things are done, cake decorating becomes a huge task. Baking a cake becomes very easy than to decorate it.

Cake decorating can be fun if some of the basic things are taken into consideration. For example if you are baking a cake for your child’s birth day then you can zero on the cake decorating ideas that are related to kids.

If the cake is baked for a tea party then the cake decorating idea should correspond to the ‘tea’ theme.

Likewise if it is a wedding cake then lots of thought process goes in to the final design on the wedding cake as it is the most significant occasion in one’s life. Everyone wants something very special for the wedding cake.

The cake should be decorated according to the occasion. If you are throwing a Valentine day party the decoration on the cake should reflect the spirit of valentine, so red roses are a must for the cake decoration.

If you want to bake a cake for your loved one then a heart shaped cake decorated with some edible flowers in yellow and red colors look great on a white back ground.

The type of icing you choose to decorate your cake can also make it look different. The trick is to get a perfect icing. If you are confident about making the icing at home then go head otherwise you get ready made icings in the market. Make use of them as it becomes that much easier to put icing on the cake.

Cake decoration idea depends on the shape of the cake as well. If a cake is baked in a shape of a shell then all you have to do is to match the colors while decorating it. It could be a white chocolate cake with some filling like butter cream and the Fondant icing will cover it. Then you can paint the lines with coco powder.

If you want to bake a cake that looks like a favorite cartoon character then you have to look for the correct mould in which you will bake the cake and then use edible or food colors to make the character look real.

You can use candies of different colors and arrange them to form a flower. It looks fabulous. You can also take into consideration the theme of the party. Cake decorating ideas can flow once you know the theme of the party. If the party is to celebrate summer then you can decorate the cake with sunflowers.

You can use some external things to make the cake look yummy. Some beads, confetti etc can take cake decorating on the other level. In other words let your imagination run wild, visualize a scene and you can transfer it on the cake.

Decorating A Stone Gazebo For A Wedding Ceremony?

My fiance and I are getting married in a historic stone gazebo, which is located in a city park. This gazebo is huge, meaning I can easily put at least 100 chairs in it & have room for the actual ceremony. I’m stuck on the decoration part because I’m not an artistic person. So far, I have two 21″ ivy & twine topiary trees, which will have white lights, and there will be one on each side of us. I also have hanging ivy planters, and the ivy hangs about 17″. Plus my runner & red rose petals. After that, I’m stuck. I don’t want to take away from the fact that it is a stone gazebo, and a historic one at that. I don’t want a bunch of tulle all over the place, etc. I want to keep it simple, but not go for the “garden” look. The bouquets are red & white roses with ivy for the greens. I’m open to suggestions! :)

Wedding Reception Decorating Ideas

A wedding is a fun and joyous time to celebrate the bond of two people. You have been thinking about every detail, how the itinerary would flow. Now it is time to start brainstorming those wedding reception decorating ideas. This can be stressful or fun depending on how much work you put into decorating your wedding reception.

Decorating a Wedding Reception

If you search Google, you will plenty of wedding reception decorating ideas and the best way to get ideas is to see what others are doing. Current fashion trends tend to change every season and a majority of brides keep up to date on what’s in and what’s out. Also, depending on how many guests you are expecting will determine the extent of decorating a wedding reception. If you have a theme, it can easily be worked into the decorating process. Also because there are so many wedding reception decorations, I recommend starting a budget and sticking with it. There may be some wedding reception table decorations that are perfect, but they just won’t work nicely with your budget.

Wedding Reception Decorating Ideas

So, what is a bride to do? Well, themes can work great for keeping the vibe of a planned wedding reception congruent. If you feel up to it, you can hand make decorations or have those in your bridal party help you as well. Remember, to delegate responsibility to these people (they are here to help keep you sane). The only drawback with this solution is that it is very time consuming. For those with busy schedules wedding planners are great for over the top or very simple wedding decorations. There are also inexpensive wedding decorations on the market. This is great for cutting costs and allocating funds towards something else.

It can be as easy as visiting your local craft store and purchasing materials to make the decorations out of. Flowers (real or imitation) can be placed in various sized jars with multicolored stones. Be sure to have this color match the one you chose for the wedding reception and brides dresses. These vases can also be used for stunning centerpieces on the guests tables. At these same stores you will find a variety of table cloths that match your desired color for the wedding reception.

Another neat idea for inexpensive weddings where there will be many younger children is to use white cloth paper for tablecloths. Provide them with pens/pencils/pens, and the younger guests will have an area to write notes and stay busy during the formalities of the reception. One of the most common problems with children at receptions is they need to keep busy or they will become irritated. You can save some of these table cloths as mementos of the big day.

Wedding Reception Themes

Typical themed weddings can also be planned on simple and easy budget. Try keeping with the seasons depending on what time of year your wedding is. For spring use wedding reception decorations that include light flowers and fresh colors. All summer themes think bold larger than life decorations and neutral colors. Sunset colors work great with fall weddings, and winter weddings are best to keep with lighter hues and shades. Example, color combinations such as burgundy and hunter, or wine and sky blue are just a couple of the many color choices for more formal autumn weddings. There are also many red, orange, and yellow flowers to go with this theme such as marigolds, apricot lilies, rust and burgundy hydrangeas. Rose petals are also great to use on tables, on parts of walkways or floating on water.

Wedding Table Decorating Ideas

Something overlooked at weddings are the name settings on tables. I recommend keeping all fonts the same and in line with the theme of your wedding. Standard name are done everywhere, try to mix it up and personalize the name settings. Maybe each individual table can have a sub-theme that plays off your wedding decorations. You can incorporate unique candles layouts and this will impress guests. Example satin cloths and greenery make for a romantic setting. While covering the dance floor area with small poles elegantly draped with satin ribbons or garlands of greenery makes for a beautiful scene. Your guests will appreciate the time and energy you put into the small details for the wedding reception area.

This is just a small sample of some of the wedding themes. Others include medieval feasts, ethnic weddings, some of which are absolutely beautiful to behold such as the Japanese and S. Korean style weddings, others are Romeo and Juliet themed weddings or an amazing under the sea themed wedding. Basically any theme that is well thought out can turn out stellar.

Wedding Reception Decorations

As you can see, there is plenty of wedding reception ideas that can be used to keep it average, expensive, or cheap. It is up to you to decide on the trade off between time and money. Basically the more money you spend, the less time it will take to get the desired result and visa versa. You can use help from family, friends, or even hired professionals. Overall, you can keep this fun and get the distinguished look you want. Bottom line, decorating for a wedding reception does not need to be stressful or difficult.

Decorating With Ostrich Feathers For Your Special Event

The use of ostrich feathers dates back thousands of years. Cleopatra and King Tutankhamun in ancient Egypt were known to have used feathers from the flightless bird in fans and ornamentation. Roman officers placed feathers from the ostrich in their headgear to indicate rank.

Today, ostrich feathers have made a strong comeback especially as centerpieces at wedding ceremonies and other formal events. Ostrich feather centerpieces are one of the hottest trends in weddings and special events today; and better yet, they are very easy to assemble! They make a gorgeous, elegant centerpieces for a wedding reception, bridal shower, anniversary, baby shower, baptism, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, birthday party, confirmation, communion, corporate event, engagement, family reunion, quinceanera, miss quince, high school prom, graduation, school reunion, sweet sixteen, or new year’s eve party.

The most popular color ostrich feather among brides is white, but the versatile ostrich feather takes dye very well. Ostrich feathers are available in a wide variety of colors, including black, gray, yellow, gold, orange, red, pink, fuchsia, magenta, burgundy, blue, royal, navy, teal, turquoise, purple, kelly green, emerald, forest, lime, rose, lavender, mint, peach and cream.

Feathers from the body of the ostrich, called drabs, are perfect for centerpieces, especially when placed atop the tall, narrow eiffel tower vases. The most popular size ostrich drab for centerpiece use favored by wedding decorators is between 13″ and 16″. This is the ideal size feather to gently bend down, creating a dramatic effect, without obstructing the view of the wedding guests. Wing plumes from the male ostrich can also be used if the tower vases showcasing the feathers are at least 24 inches tall.

To heighten the dramatic effect of the centerpiece, many wedding designers recommend placing small LED lights, such as the FloraLyte, inside the tower vase. Like the ostrich feather, these lights come in a variety of colors to match or complete the color scheme of the wedding.

To create the ostrich feather wedding centerpiece, simply put the feather quill ends into your foam bouquet holders. Start at the bottom, and move around the holders in a circular motion in an upward direction until you reach the top. Use the larger feathers towards the bottom and the smaller as you reach the top. Finally, place your FloralLtes into your vase, and place the stems of the foam bouquet holders into your eiffel tower vases. The feathers will get the desired slight arch after a few days, so plan to assemble your centerpieces several days before your event.

If you are using one time use FloraLytes, you will not want to activate them until the actual day of your big event. While the FloraLytes do an excellent job of lighting these centerpieces up from the inside, you can use light bases for additional lighting. You may also wish to place the centerpieces on a table mirror to reflect the beauty of the arrangement.

These stunning wedding feather centerpieces add a spectacular ambiance to any event. Your guests will really love them!
