Wedding in Red – Perfect Marriage

I know that white is unacceptable, but what about black or red? People wear black everywhere nowadays but it doesn’t seem to be the best color for a wedding. I used to think that red was a nice color to wear to a wedding, but some people tell me that it’s too “eye catching” and that it takes attention away from the bride. This seems odd to me because I’ve been to many weddings where the bridesmaids wore bright red dresses.

We had originally planned our wedding for Aug 1st, 2009 but due to some family issues we postponed. Our colors at that point were light purple, peach and min green. We bought many flowers in shades of purple. I don’t want them to go to waste, but also I don’t want that theme for our new date as it seems less appropriate. So I have thought of using a true to deep purple and gold so I could use most of those flowers. Would that work?

I love the thought of red, not sure why as I never imagined a red wedding until a few days ago, but I’ve played around with David Bridals Real Wedding thing and I love the way the red dresses stand together.

Another Idea was blue as it’s his favorite color.

Any other ideas? And what Idea do you like the best. IF I use red I will more then likely wear a sash of my families tartan (my surname is Scottish) and it has a line of red in it. My fiance will be wearing a kilt, It is black and white.

My fiance & I are getting married on Feb 13th, 2010.. Since it’s the day before Valentine’s day, I kind of want it to tie in with that. I don’t want cheesy hearts & pink everywhere. I just want it to be really romantic. What is a good color scheme to go with? The chairs at the reception are a dark green, but I don’t really want dark green for my theme.. but maybe something that will go with it. I’m not sure. I could always get chair covers, I suppose. Anyways, I like red, but I’m not sure what shade or what colors to go with it? Also, what flowers should I get that will be in season & match with the theme? I like roses, but would prefer something different. Thanks!!
I might want to add, I’m probably going to get silk flowers. I just want flowers that are in season.. as in, obviously not daisys or something that would look out of place in winter.

I am hoping for an early November wedding in 2008. I really love the color apple and want to use that for my bridesmaid dresses. I don’t neccassarily want a fall themed wedding, (aka using leaves and pumpkins and such for decorations) but I do like the fall colors. What would be some good colors to accent the apple red? Any other good, and cost effective, ideas in general for unique favors, centerpieces, bouquets etc. would also be appreciated.

Please tell me which color mix you like best! Remember it’s a Febuary wedding and they say they’re having the ceremony outside and the reception inside.
I’m not changing the colors. These are what THEY want.

And we live in Arizona but the wedding is going to be in Colorado, becuase that’s where most of the bride’s family lives.

Hi everyone. I am searching for some nice centerpieces and found something real pretty. I found round heart shaped floating candles in red,white,and Ivory they were all pretty. And I was also just thinking of using maybe some silk red,and Ivory flowers instead of the candles. Which one would make a beautiful centerpiece I want something to stand out on my tables. My wedding colors are red & Ivory. And my dress is Ivory. Thanks any info and tips is great.

There is a lot to go with my question. We are trying to stay on a budget and I saw a lot of great ideas for centerpieces and decorations that I can make myself.

ok, i asked a question earlier about renewing our vows, but now im wondering, what can go with red and white. my first wedding i had on all white me and my husband(we were 18,and 19, and it was on 2007) , and my colors were silver and royal blue then. but now when we renew them im planning on buying a new dress and changing colors. i am gonna buy this red and white dress, and those are the colors my husband will were, what colors can go with red and white. mostly for my wedding party and decorations.
