im making my own wedding cake we have over a year to practise so thought id play around so its perfect on the day. ideally we are wanting a chocloate wedding cake its going to be on a stand so it would be tiered.
is there any nice chocolate recipes out there that arent rich and how do i ice it tried looking on the net and they do fruit cake which i really dont want. once we have baked the cake whats next we are wanting either black or red icing too any ideas would be great ta

Centerpieces and favors for a chocolate themed wedding?

I am looking for creative ideas for centerpieces for a chocolate themed wedding. My fiance and I are getting married in an old chocolate factory in May 2011. The factory has since been re-done but there are still some industrial elements left in the space (which I LOVE). I dont want floral centerpieces. I would prefer something to tie in my theme. We are on a budget so please keep that in mind ($15-$20 per table tops).
Also, I have been going back and forth with favors. I would normally be one to ix-nay the favors or go with a donation or something but I came across mini fondue sets for pretty cheap that I think would be really cute to go with my theme. We would do one per couple and then each single would obviously get their own as well. Thoughts? Our wedding is small (65 people).
I’m also open to any other suggestions that you have for chocolate themed weddings for other parts of the wedding. Thanks alot.
Are Chocolate and Red to dark of colors for a July wedding?

I want a romantic wedding but it’s going to be in the hottest part of the summer in Canada. My Fiance is US air force and wants to wear his uniform. My mom worries that it will look like a joke if we get married on July 4th with me in White, the groom and groomsmen in Dark Blue and my girls in Deep Red. Is a red, white and blue wedding a little too much for a 4th of july wedding? are those colors too dark for the summer anyway?
Any ideas or picture for a small three layered chocolate cake for valentines day?

It could be a two layered cake aswell. But do you know how to prepare the frosting because i remember when my step grandmother used to buy the frosting then take it out of the container and stir then add something to it. Was it creamcheese? And Thanks:D
