Why Many Brides Turn to Bridal Magazines for Wedding Ideas and Inspirations

Are you out of wedding ideas? Do you want to do something different with your wedding, something that is bold and screams “you”, to all the guests? Planning a wedding can be a very difficult task indeed, and for many brides it is also a very stressful time in their lives.

All brides want their wedding day to be special, and they also want their special day to stand out in the minds of all concerned as a resounding success. However, the order of the day is to also make the wedding memorable in a different and special way that is unique. It should signal to your guests that three is something unique about your wedding, something that no one has ever done before.

This is why many brides turn to bridal magazines and things for wedding ideas and inspirations. More and more, you will also find that brides to-be are turning towards the services of wedding planners to help them get great new wedding ideas, and create the perfect wedding.

This however, can significantly drive up the costs of the wedding and you will need to be prepared to accept this fact. An increased need for a budget doesn’t always mean that you will get everything that you want. It can instead herald the fact that you are getting costlier items than you otherwise might have done. Then again, you could just be getting everything that you want for the increased price.

It is undeniable however, that hiring the services of a professional wedding planner can have great benefits, the main one being that you get the choice of a few great wedding ideas which you night have stumbled across yourself.

Then again, wedding ideas can be anything that you want it to be, and perfection is in the eye of the beholder. If you, as the bride, are satisfied that you have the utmost perfect wedding planned for yourself, then you have nothing to worry about.

And indulging in a few harmless wedding ideas can brighten up your wedding day considerably. It can also be a great way for you to relax and take the stress out of things. Unless of course you decide to change everything around in your already planned wedding to accommodate the new wedding ideas that you have. That can be just downright stressful no matter which way you decide to look at it!

Brides Trade in Tiaras for Flowers

Some brides this summer, are foregoing tiaras, letting their tresses down and pinning flowers up in their hair. For every bride there is a matching flower in taste, style and ambiance. Flowers can be used with a veil or can stand on their own for a beautiful look. The hottest flowers and hairstyles will be everything from sweet to sultry. With smaller flowers, a couple or a few will do. It depends on what the bride wants: if you want one that takes the cake, or a few here and there. From lilies to orchids, the following flowers will set you apart this summer.

LILY

The lily, especially the oriental lily, is a timeless flower frequently associated with weddings. A symbol of purity, this glamorous bloom works best with up-dos twisted or curled in the middle to the lower section of the back of the head. The lily can easily be pinned to the side of the do. This style is especially stunning for bridal photos. For a down hairstyle, curl the hair in barrel rolls and pin back a few pieces on one side, placing the lily beside the pinned locks. If worn on the wedding day, the bride doesn’t need much perfume because of the lily’s strong scent. Lilies’ petals can reach a span of six inches, making it a perfect flower for the bride who wishes to make a statement. Lilies come in shades of pink and red, although white is the most popular.

GERBERA DAISY

Distinquished by their large, beautiful blooms and wide assortment of vibrant colors, gerbera daisies have become a favorite flower choice. The gerbera daisy is a symbol of beauty and innocence and an expression of cheerfull sentiments. For a less formal approach, gerbera daisies are perfect for the bride with long locks. Pull a few pieces back and pin them with a gerbera daisy. Or sport a very simple french twist with the daisy set in the crease.

STEPHANOTIS

The Stephanotis flower has always been a popular wedding flower, symbolizing happiness in marriage, good luck and bonds of affection. Stephanotis florets enhance an up-do of curls and must be pinned carefully because of their flimsy stems. Discuss with your florist how many stephanotis you will need depending on the style and thickness of your hair. A bride with short hair may use five to six stephanotis in a clump, pinned behind her ear. For an up-do, consider a french twist with individual stephanotis in a straight line up the crease. Or leave the hair down, randomly pinning them in the curls. These small white florets are available year round and have a soft scent.

ROSE

Charming roses are a signature flower for weddings. There is no flower that has been revered and celebrated as much as the rose. As a source of inspiration to people throughout history, roses are the definitive symbol for love and appreciation. Coming in an array of colors, and available in larger and smaller blooms, roses can be beautifully placed in barrel rolls turned forward. Roses are always elegant, classic and romantic.

GARDENIA

Somewhat similar in appearance to the garden rose but more costly and delicate, gardenias are a classic addition to any hairstyle. Symbolizing joy, refinement and beauty. These fragrant flowers create a more sophisticated look than the traditional headpiece. If you have one gardenia in your hair and your hair is pulled back, that can be more dramatic looking than a tiara. Because of this bloom’s sensitivity, a style off the face with the gardenia pinned in back would be best to avoid contact with the petals as they are fragile and may bruise easily.

ORCHID

With an exotic appearance, orchids have come to represent rare and delicate beauty. Those seeking to make a lasting impression with a unique flower have found the orchid to be a perfect choice. You could use one or a few of these flowers in your hair, depending on the style. One suggestion is overlaying three orchids on top of each other and pinning them toward the top or bottom of the hair on either side. Offsetting is the key. These flowers appear best when clumped together rather than scattered randomly. The three most common orchid types, each durable enough to stay in full bloom for the big day, are cymbidium, dendrobium and phalaenopsis. Cymbidium orchids are gorgeous for a more elegant look. Orchids are usually available year round and come in a variety of colors. The “hot” flower for the summer bride, is a lime green orchid.

Each bridesmaid should wear a simpler form of hair accessory such as one or two of the flowers that have been used in the bride’s hair. These can be used with a headband or pinned into the side or back of the style. Whatever flower you decide to use, make sure you discuss it with your stylist before your hair appointment. For healthy, rich-colored petals, pick up your blooms the morning of the wedding and take them with you to the salon. It is recommended that the flowers be left in the refrigerator overnight if they’re picked up a day early.

The Proper Wedding Etiquette For Brides

Whether we admit it or don’t Wedding Etiquette is still an important issue to many of us. Don’t you hear yourself complaining for some weddings that you have attended? Maybe you have heard some friends who have attended a wedding ceremony and learning after the rites that he or she was not invited for the wedding reception.

Although it is acceptable and is within the Wedding Etiquette standard to invite some guests only at the wedding reception and some only at the wedding reception, the guests should be informed of this fact before hand. These instances want us to shout: Learn some manners!

For brides out there who are getting married next year, it will be for your own good if you would buy Emily Post’s book on Wedding Etiquette. It will teach you the Wedding Etiquette basics and Wedding Etiquette blunders. Knowing what violates and follows Wedding Etiquette will help you go through your big day, hassle and stress free.

– Basic Wedding Etiquette for Brides

On what to wear.

Modern Wedding Etiquette allows brides to wear any design that she want in any color. Brides are not anymore limited to wearing ultra white wedding dress with sleeves. They may wear a tube, halter or spaghetti strapped wedding dress in creme, beige or pastel colors.

But for the sake of Wedding Etiquette, she should also consider her cultural background and her church’s dress requirement. If your church requires you to wear a shawl over a tube wedding dress, then you must do so.

If the minister or priest thinks that your red wedding dress is unappropriate for the church and ask you to replace your $10,000 designer wedding dress for a white wedding dress, then you should take it off and buy a white ready-to-wear wedding gown at Macy’s.

On who to invite.

It is a basic Wedding Etiquette for a bride to talk to her groom on who and who are not to invite. Remember that the is the two of you who will get married, not only you. It will be a violation of Wedding Etiquette if you will invite persons your groom do not want to get invited or do not want to see, such as your old flame or his old boss that he had an argument eventhough you are in speaking terms with his old boss. It is not just about Wedding Etiquette, it is in fact about the issue of respect.

If it is your second marriage, you should not invite your ex-spouse or your ex-parents-in-law. Even if you are in good terms with your ex, Wedding Etiquette dictates that you should not invite them. This is to avoid unnessary confrontations or wedding drama. Your guest will also feel uncomfortable around your ex.

But there is an exception to this Wedding Etiquette. If your children to your ex-spouse has requested for the presence of their father, then you should talk about it with your groom. If he agrees, then invite your ex to your wedding. But there is an alternative to this, however.

You can invite your guest for a dinner at your home after your wedding or honeymoon. This private dinner is more quiet and will save you the trouble of explaining to your father and mother and other close guests why your ex-husband is in your wedding.

On gift giving and registry.

It is a big Wedding Etiquette no-no to ask for cash gifts from your guests. Although it is a reality that newlyweds need cash as a startup money since they need to rent a bigger place or buy new appliances that the two of them needs, you don’t want to look like a greedy bride for asking for some cash.

Let them decide what to give. If they have decided to give you cash, then say your thanks. But don’t ever ask them to fund a mortgage or fund a charity that you will establish as a wedding gift.

Registry card is acceptable although modern Wedding Etiquette objects to insertion of the registry card in the invitation. Wedding Etiquette specialists say that brides should put up an online registry card and inform your guests through your invitation that you have an online registry and they may want to look it up in case they would decide to buy you gifts from your registry.
