My fiance and I are having our wedding in October 2009 and are using persimmon (redish/orange) and gold as our two main fall colors with hints of brown and greens. We want our wedding to be very fallish so we have already bought silk leaves (which will be used on each side of the aisle and on our tables at the reception) and have ideas of what we want for our centerpieces (floating candles). His aunt is making our wedding cake and my church is preparing the meal (traditional Thanksgiving meal) so these things are covered. Our favors…we have no idea what to do as we are having 150 guests to make favors for. We know we don’t want to use any food products so maybe candles or something. Anyways, if you have any simple but elegant ideas please let me know. I can’t wait to hear from all of you. P.S. Incase this matters my dress is ivory and my bridesmaids are persimmon. My fiance is wearing an ivory tux and his men are wearing brown tuxes.

October 2009 weddings?
Anyone out there getting married next October? If so have you started doing anything yet? What are your colors etc etc? Mine are dark red and orange. I just find fall to be so beautiful. I live in NH and we are having an outdoor ceremony. I cant wait!!
We are planning on having our wedding February 21, 2009. Is this date too close to Valentine’s Day?
Is this a popular time to get married? Will we end up paying more because of it being close to the holiday? Also, would a winter wedding theme still work or do you think people will be expecting a more Cupid-like theme?
I’m planning a destination wedding in Jamaica in 2009, any advice for the resort to have it in?
I wanted to have it in Ocho Rios, I was thinking of August 2009 or earlier. I need some place where we can have the wedding that is affordable enough for me and the groom and our friends and families to stay.
I also need advice on where and how should I book this trip , for example my sisters and parents would want to go together should I do through an agency? Or should I do it myself? I don’t want to book through the hotel myself cause it was expensive already.
Also any advice on wedding gifts and invitations??
Thanks anything is appreciated!!!
Oh btw, as for wedding gifts I meant favors for people attending the wedding. Thanks again

Designer Wedding Dresses That Will Impress In 2009
When you are shopping for your wedding day, one of your biggest priorities should be your wedding gown. In fact, for many of today’s brides, the wedding gown is the most important element of the big event. All of your friends, family, loved ones and guests should be waiting with baited breath to see how gorgeous you are and what you are wearing as you take those first steps down the aisle. Because of the importance of the wedding dress, extra care should be taken when deciding on which to wear during your wedding ceremony.
If you are looking for a wedding gown that everyone is going to remember, then you most definitely want to ensure that you invest in a designer wedding dress for your special day. Because owning and wearing a designer wedding dress on your big day helps ensure that your gown is unique. Yes, your dress should be as unique as you are when you choose from designer wedding dresses for your big day. There are many benefits to choosing a designer dress, but the most important reasons are the comfort and quality. Another benefit is that it should be noticed by all guests rather quickly and it should impress them greatly. There are many styles and this is a decision that should be taken slowly due to the importance of the final decision.
When you start your search for designer wedding dresses, you need to start your search early. The key to a beautiful designer wedding dress is investing not only the money, but also the time it takes to secure that perfect fit. Designer wedding dresses are classic pieces and they are what they are due to their luxury, fabric, fit, and their unique sense of style. When you buy designer wedding dresses, you are investing in quality craftsmanship where every stitch in time is made just for you.
Designer wedding dresses that will impress in 2009 are taken from ideas inspired from the red carpet. That is right; celebrities wear on average two to four different formal gowns by leading designers such as Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Versace, Dolce and Gabanna, and many more. These trends in formal wear are what make the trends in all formal wear all across the world. These trends also extend to bridal wear. Today, you can select from a wide range of designer wedding dresses that should impress in 2009. You can hand choose the style that you want, so that your wedding dress reflects exactly who you are.
Very often, if you are going couture, your designer will then make your dress from scratch, moulding each and every piece of fabric to your exact measurements. Fabric selection, embellishments, and measurements are all done with your taste and needs in mind. In some cases, designers should take your exact measurements, and mould a dress in a standard size according to your tailored needs. The process of owning and wearing a designer wedding dress is a lengthy one, but with each step of the way, you are guaranteed custom-made service for your custom-made gown.
For example, there are a number of leading manufacturers of bridal wear, and definitely tops the lists of best designer wedding dresses that can impress in 2009. With these designer dress manufacturers, you can choose from standard wedding gowns, to the more traditional Cinderella type gowns, or choose fitted and sleek gowns that will stand apart from the crowd. Fitted gowns with empire bodices and satin waistbands all embellished with crystal and jewelled accessories are the kinds of designer wedding dresses that can find at these manufacturers. You can also choose something more traditional, and go with a lovely lacy strapless piece embellished with scattered crystals and a pretty satin waistband in your color choice. With designers such as these, you can find a versatile range of wedding wear.
If you want to veer from the traditional look, or are preparing for a second marriage, you may want to look at designer wedding dresses that offer more spunk and less tradition. The designer Platinum may be just the kind of designer you are looking for. What makes Platinum so popular is that here is a designer that understands the individuality of today’s bride. Everything from sleek and simple to graduating rhinestone baguettes can be seen on the designer wedding dresses from this very unique collection.
No matter what you are looking for in terms of your specific needs for designer wedding dresses, you can find it if you invest the time necessary to construct a gown from beginning to end. You may find the process enjoyable and rewarding, and this process alone can be one of your favorite memories as you look back with your husband years from now on your magical day.

Top Wedding Dress Trends for 2009 and 2010
Want to ensure a fashion-forward look for your upcoming 2009 or 2010 wedding? From sleek silhouettes to mini-dresses and tiered gowns, these latest looks for wedding gowns will help you put your best fashion foot forward to get you down the aisle in style.
Sleek Silhouettes
Slim is the silhouette of choice for the modern wedding dress – as sheaths, trumpets, and column wedding dresses ruled the runways. Don´t fret if you´ve always dreamed of donning a billowy ball gown, however, as this traditional style never goes out of style.
Colorful Details
Modern brides are experimenting with color to tie their ensembles into the color scheme. Adding a splash of color to the basic white gown remains popular through colorful sashes and appliqué details, or more dramatically through two-toned wedding gowns with a colored bodice against a white or off-white skirt.
High Hemlines
Not afraid to show a little leg, today´s brides are embracing the tea-length and mini shift dresses that have become de rigueur in nearly every wedding dress designer´s latest collections. The trend makes sense for destination weddings calling for laid back attire and brides opting to don a second dress for dancing the night away at the reception.
Tiered Skirts
Whether chiffon, tulle, organza, or even feathers – layers of fabric are the newest major detail designers are playing with to create soft, yet dramatic gowns. This flowing style is perfect for the bride who is a romantic at heart.
Floaty Fabrics
Dresses weighted down by heavy crepes, matte satins and silks are lightening up to fabrics like taffeta and organza. These airy fabrics are easy to layer and more comfortable for a gown worn for up to 10 hours. And for brides having a summer wedding, donning a lighter fabric will ensure they´re glowing – not sweaty and red-faced – on their wedding day.
One Shoulder
This asymmetrical look is a hot fashion trend that has crossed over into the bridal world to update the basic strapless gown. Carrying a simple, no fuss vibe, the one shoulder gown is a great option for a destination wedding. Bonus points for those blessed with toned limbs, as this neckline shows off the upper arms and shoulders.
Practical Pockets
Having graced gowns for a few seasons, pockets remain hot in 2009. The style lends a casual vibe for relaxed events, and – perhaps best of all – it´s practical too, allowing brides to keep essentials like lip gloss or tissues on hand throughout the day.
