Looking for ideas for simple, inexpensive wedding centerpieces for long tables?

28 Apr

Our wedding is in September, so fall themes are ok. The main color is cinnamon (more red then brown/orange). The venue is somewhat informal and has a “lodge-y” look

I would go to walmart or other inexpensive store and buy some glass bowl put some water in it and floating candles. You can also put some silk plants around it with the theme colors you like.

You could take either candles or lanterns (a few on each table depending on length) and then just scatter either fall colored leaves or petals down the length in the middle.

You could do something very simple like cinnamon colored candles and then scatter some fall leaves on the table. That would look very nice…
Maybe do something like this, but instead of using the flower petals you could use fall leaves.

Maybe you could even add some mini white pumpkins. That would look very nice with the setting you are describing. I hope this helps! Good luck :)

Your cheapest option would be to really limit your flower-based centerpieces and get creative with candles. Something like this is really simple and elegant, and you could replace the branches with something more red to match your color scheme:

I’m having a fall wedding as well, and I’m using vases filled with coffee beans with long branches and hanging candles. They ended up being really inexpensive. I’m just adding lots of tealight candles around the table as well to give it a more warm and romantic feeling.

    Here are some other ideas:

I personally love the second picture … fill the vases with artificial leaves (or even real ones if you know how to preserve them).

    I hope this helps!

Depending upon where you life, its might still be extremely summery, so you can’t count on being able to use natural materials, such as fallen leaves for decorations.

But what I might consider, if I had a trellis or other thing to grow stuff on. Grow a LOT of morning glories this summer and then prior to your wedding, pull them down, and use the vines as little vine wreaths. If you want to, buy that wirey-viney wedding garland and intertwine that with the wreaths. Then place small candles in the middle and if you want to, decorate the vines wreaths with inexpensive silk leaves/ flowers, acorns, pumpkins, etc.. on picks. All of these you can get at the dollar store.

That’s if you have NO money. If you have more money than that, I’d just get some red, cream, and orange flowers and place them in little glasses vases in the middle and then I’d sprinkle something around them.. like little wedding confetti or something.

I really neat idea that I did was picture frames in a triangle. LIke 3 picture frames glued together or hinged together in such a way that a candle could be in the middle. You could put pictures of you and your husband in each picture frame. I did this for my wedding, only I cringed at the price of all of those picture frames, so I made my own with the thick popsicle sticks. I then spray painted them a brownish/goldish/bronze color. They even have sparkle paint which is way cool.
My centerpieces were wonderful, peolple loved them, and it showed me and my husband as kids, which of course included many other family members in each picture with us, which made people happy seeing also.
You can go to http://www.7weddingplanners.com/WeddingCenterpiece.html for some additional ideas. Lanterns, rose petals, simple candles, etc are very simple. You could also get long vases for each table and stick a tea light on top, it will vary by what you have available.
I also came across a discussion board that I found helpful when helping plan my friend’s wedding.

Want some cheap, dollar store ideas that look great? I have some great, beautiful, inexpensive ideas that would fill up five pages here. Feel free to email me, and I’ll write them and all the instructions down for you. We couldn’t decide on a winter wedding, or a fall one, so I gathered tons of ideas for both. Like I said, I’d be glad to share, and I think I have lots of ideas that would fit in well with your color choice and lodge decor.

Get large low square “bowls/vases” put river rocks on the bottom fill halfway with water and put some floating candles with some floating orchids. You can space them out on the table and it will be really nice.

Ok so I dont know if this really would go with the “lodge-y” look, but I have a great idea for long tables. I have 3 head tables, all 8ft long and I am decorating them with a long mirror. At (Ikea) the sell 8ft long mirrors that are wavey, not straight edge. I am going to lay in the middle of the table and put tall, fat, silver, glittery, candles on top of the mirror. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Clear glass vases. Paint branches cinnamon. While the paint is wet sprinkle with clear glitter so you’ve got some shine. Use glass marbles and glittered apples and other fruit and veggies along the table, interspersed with candles.
