I am planning my October 30th 2010 wedding and am curious as to what I should do about flowers. I am going to be doing them myself (with my bridesmaids) and wanted some ideas for the types of flowers to use. I was thinking of having the bouquets a little “weedy” with some natural, earthy items, such as pheasant feathers and some grasses. But I can’t really find what I am looking for online. Can anyone give me any ideas?
Late October wedding, flower ideas?

I was married in late October also and went through the same kind of thing trying to tye everything (including the flowers) into that late Autumn theme. The thing is….the wedding is about YOU. I chose October because it is my favorite time of the year. And I had lilies in all the bridal boquets because they are my favorite flower. I did have ribbons woven into the boquets to match the color of my bridesmaids dresses (which were a yellow/gold tone).
At the end of the day, make it YOUR day about the things you love.
I wish you well.

I think that is the most perfect time to get married.
I love the idea of pheasant feathers.
As I search for ideas for my daughters wedding in July I have come upon some sites I found useful. Take a peek at the links provided and see if they help.
The link with wedding by jess in it has a ton of other links that may help. The first link has some interesting facts. It will also give a good idea what is in full bloom that time of year. Also in early October if you have any biter sweet around pick it and dry it out that alone can be used in so many ways. Wish you lived next door I have tons here.
Think candles, candles, candles.
Best of luck.

Well, depending on the colors you’re using….
I got married 10.18.08 and had mango calla lillies, circus roses (red at tips, then fades to orange, then yellow), hypericum berries, bear grass, and gerbera daisies. It turned out really beautiful. If you want a more natural look, choose wildflowers in the colors you are using, and then add in lots of grasses, etc. for filler.
