Anyone have suggestions for UNIQUE bridesmaid gifts?

07 Jun

I am getting married in June and need some ideas for unique bridesmaid gifts. (not jewlery, pictures, frames, anything alcohol related) My bridemaids are all about 30 yrs old and have been in tons of weddings before mine, so I am looking for some fun gifts. They do not all have to be the same. Any ideas?
if you know of any good websites, please post as well.

You can’t get any more unique than finding something that fits each woman’s personality/hobbies/interests. What are each of them into? Do they have a favorite actor/author/musician, etc?

I think an LL Bean bag with their initials are timeless and they can use it for ever. Old navy has a version too. Also a Pashminia, they can wear it the day of your wedding and use it as a scarf all winter. Or just get them individual gifts for their personalty or a funny story like why you choose them. If you do not have too many bridesmaids that make the rehearsal dinner funny .” Mary taught me how to fish for free food in the dorm and give her a monogram fishing hat etc..” corny but you get the jist. I think since i am a pain i am giving my girls home made spa kits inside a bag. Sugar scrubs stuff to relax because they will need it. I am not getting married any time soon , but it is never too early to plan.

What about a trip to a day spa for you all before the day to get pampered? Or a spa gift set that they can use themselves.

    Otherwise..
you could try looking in some antique stores- they have some really nice old compact mirrors or jewelery boxes or vases, etc. you could give.

    perfume

A beautiful plant/flower of some sort.

Or you could individualize the gifts to their interests (e.g. for the friend who loves cooking buy a really nice cook book, for the friend that’s into art buy a nice print for her wall at home, etc.)

i hope you don’t find this lame but since they all will be tired the day of the wedding why not find some small glass bowls to decorate and fill them with things that will say relax and indulge yourself a while like popcorn a movie or bubble bath and lotion…chocolates and snacks …or you could also find a spa that does massages and get a discount on purchasing multiplies it wasn’t to expensive….if they are married maybe a nightie that will spruce up their night also …if you know any of them for yrs and have pics and memories you can also make small scrap books with little sayings for each pic as you remember it….

    depends on each girl.
loves to cook? – a class at a local cooking school for something like indian food,or sushi
fashionista?-new wallet from a designer she loves,a sexy pair of heels.
artist? large framed picture,a handmade vase from a local artist

they are your friends and only you can pick the perfect gift for each one.im glad you arent getting jewelry for them…how boring.good luck!

try looking at theknot.com for suggestions… they have lots of non-traditional bridesmaids gifts, but as a wedding planner, two things that i always suggest are:
    1. bake each of your bridesmaid’s favorite dessert.
    2. For your bridemaids’ luncheon, hosted by the bride, have a spa day and send your friends home each with a towel/washcloth set and a little lotion or bodywash from bath and bodyworks.

    I love these websites.

    http://weddingshop.theknot.com/weddingwarehouse/UICategory.aspx?scId=Bridesmaid%20Gifts(KnotShop)&cId=Attendant%20Gifts(KnotShop)

Bombay duck is a UK site but it might give u some ideas.

I gave my bridesmaids engraved keyrings. I engraved them with their nicknames (nicknames that only I called them) They loved them coz they were personal.

    Good Luck!

I don’t know what your budget is, but I would do a bridesmaids brunch, however the theme would be Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and the decor could be in the style of Tiffany and Co. or you could actually reference the movie for decor ideas. You could make each girl a basket with a copy of the movie, have glasses, pearls, etc… and possibly give them a gift from Tiffany and Co. For food you could do mainly breakfast items, and serve juices, mimosas. I got the idea from Today’s show when they did their wedding show this year or you can reference the Martha Stewart magazine, because it was featured in there. You can also reference My Big Phat fabulous wedding the tv show and look up the couple Mina and Leroy, she used a Hello Kitty theme for her bridesmaids luncheon. Good luck

Spa gift card. Or you girls could go out for a spa day all together before the big day and you could treat the girls to that.

    Little baskets full of goodies.

    the ideas are endless. :)
    Have fun!
