Wedding in Red – Perfect Marriage

I live in Eastern Mississippi and am willing to drive 5-6 hours. Any suggestions on where I should take my wife on Valentine’s Day? Major cities around here are Birmingham AL, Atlanta GA, Memphis TN, Chattanooga TN, Jackson MS

I need some ideas of what to do for the actual wedding ceremony. We do not want a Catholic wedding, but need some ideas for what to do at the wedding and who to have marry us.

I’m having my wedding outside at night. I want a wedding and reception where people leaving talking about what a unique wedding it was. I have some ideas like a photo sign in book instead of a normal sign in book but that’s about it so far as I have gotten. I’m hoping to get some ideas on how to change the traditional and conventional things into unique and personal ideas. Please help if you can, thanks. Oh yeah the wedding is late June of 2009 and a have a small but not non existent budget.

Hi ladies w/ good fashion sense, would a dark red, knee length dress be suitable and ok for an August wedding? I am just attending it w/ my boyfriend, I really don’t know who the bride is groom is.

I just wanted to make sure red would be ok for summer. I know red is usually good for the holiday season, but I’ve seen alot of bright colors for the summer at the stores.

Is it ok to wear a red shirt to a school formal? Instead of a white one.

But I’m not sure if you can wear it to a senior school formal. Lots of the pics show guys wearing white shirt, with a few people wearing black. But no one wears red, I didn’t know this untill I bought the shirt today.

My partner is wearing a black sparkly dress, I haven’t seen it but do you think it will match?
If I can’t wear it there… I might refund it and buy a white one like everyone else. Red looks good, but I might be the only guy wearing a red shirt there.

Last year a guy went to the school formal dressed like a pimp haha – maybe red doesnt matter if he can get away dressing like a pimp… well he got in trouble…

The one promise I made about our wedding to my fiance is that he can wear a kilt. Originally, we chose the red version of his family tartan. Now, looking at the colors of the kilt, I’m realizing that its going to be a pain to match the colors and get them to coordinate. The wedding is next summer, and fortunately, I haven’t really ordered or paid for anything major that uses that color scheme. (Just invitation samples and bride and groom t-shirts). There is a blue version of his family tartan that is lovely, but I had originally had my heart set on a red and white wedding. I’ve always loved that color scheme even before I agreed to let him wear a kilt. Looking at it now, however, the colors of that kilt look too dark for a summer wedding and the things I’ve found that I like in red don’t match the kilt at all. I’m considering switching to the blue. Tell me what your opinions are. Can I pull off a blue and brown color scheme with the other kilt? If I can, I think I’ll be happy with it.

Okay. I guess I wasn’t clear. 900 characters just isn’t enough to work with! I’m pretty sure I’m going to switch. The red is way too hard to match and its a SUMMER wedding. All the red details I have found either scream Christmas or they don’t look good with the tartan. When I got a fabric swatch of the bridesmaids dresses I had picked out, it really hit home how hard this was going to be. Plus, my fiance really likes the blue tartan. I really want to know if the blue tartan will look good with a blue and brown scheme and if there are any suggestions for a different blue scheme if that won’t work.

I’m (31) from the US and my boyfriend (30) is from the Middle East. We’ve seriously talked about getting married, later this summer.

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and saw all of their cheesy 4th of July decorations. My sister has offered her backyard for the ceremony/reception. Money’s tight for my boyfriend and I. An informal bbq buffet seems like a pretty inexpensive option for the reception.

I was Wal-Mart again tonight and caught sight of the red, white, and blue decorations and suddenly thought of an “Americana themed wedding” to go along with the summer bbq idea. I’d be able to get allllll of the decorations for 50-75% off after the 4th of July, but use them like early to mid-August.

Would it be too late in the summer for a “4th of July” looking wedding? Are the colors weird for a wedding between 2 ppl not both from the US?

Any other ideas/ suggestions?

Cheap decorations… plus I’ve fallen in love with the Rascall Flatts/ JC Penney Americana commercial.

His favorite color is blue (as well as mine). I also like red and will be in white.
We’d be married outdoors in the South. I think people would be most comfy in jeans.
Plus, I think our wedding scapbook would look nice in red, white, and blue…
I had mentioned red, white, and black and he seemed fine with that, hopefully he’ll like red, white, and blue!

I am pretty much at the beginning point of planning my wedding. It is going to be something small with a party/reception after wards where more people will be attending.

We are trying to do this and make it as affordable as possible. What do I need to consider as far as music? I don’t really know anything about planning a wedding or what the “guidelines” are for what is done. When music is played, and what type of music to play. I have been reading that people choose certain songs for the cutting of the cake, first dance, father/daughter dance, etc. What all do I need to consider? What points during a wedding and reception do people choose certain songs for?
I was considering doing something by computer where a bunch of different songs we choose are played in an order we choose. How does this sound? Anyone have experience on this one?
We are doing a wilderness/nature type theme. Our date will be in July of 2010. The wedding will probably be outside and the reception at another location inside. We like a mixture of music ranging from oldies, country, R&B, some rap, alternative, and some metal.
